Trading Club Officers

Wenze (Kyle) Xu is the President of the FinMath Trading Club and a current graduate student in the Financial Mathematics program at the University of Chicago. Working with the Career Development office, Wenze will help with preparing Trading Club members for a future career in trading or related quant finance roles. Wenze is also working to host the first UChicago Quant-Trading Conference in the fall of 2015. This conference will welcome students, scholars and professionals who have a keen interest in quantitative finance and trading. Currently, he is a part-time intern at a Chicago-based trading firm, researching quantitative trading strategies in the foreign exchange and commodity future markets. Prior to matriculating to the University of Chicago, Wenze graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with two bachelor degrees in finance and mathematics.

Sheng (Jason) Zhao is the Vice President of the FinMath Trading Club and will graduate with a Master of Science in Financial Mathematics from the University of Chicago in Dec 2015. He holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance and a minor in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Jason’s career interests are in trading, asset management and risk management. Currently, he is a part-time intern for a Chicago-based hedge fund company where he helps with building mathematical models to predict movements in the FX market and developing trading strategies. Before this trading internship, Jason was a strategy research intern in an investment bank and worked on several projects including researching equity market and tracking global indices.

Yangneng Zhang

Yangneng (Cathy) Zhang, Treasurer of the Trading Club, previously majored in Actuarial Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As an undergraduate, Yangneng was actively involved in the founding and of operation of iTrade club. Building on her interests and passions for quantitative finance, she decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Financial Mathematics at the University of Chicago. As treasurer, Yangneng will be taking managing the collection and expenditure of club funds, particularly in seeking sponsorship and balancing the budget. Teamed with other club officers, Yangneng will focus on budgeting and maintain costs for the 2015 Trading Conference as well as the general expenditures of various club events.

Zexi (Jessy) Zhang, Connection Chair of the Trading Club, is a first year Financial Mathematics graduate student at the University of Chicago. She earned her bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from UIUC and has a keen interest in quantitative finance and trading strategies. She previously served as the Social and Outreach Chair, Publicity Committee Member and Student Consultant in three different RSOs as an undergraduate. Zexi s trilled to join the trading club this year and looks forward to organizing biweekly club events to support the members exploring the most about their career interests.

Graduated from Purdue University, Yue Teng is a first-year master student in the Financial Mathematics program at the University of Chicago. He is passionate about sports, and was the president of PUCSSA Badminton Association of Purdue. As an Alumni Relations Chair, his focus will be to work with the Career Development office to organize Alumni meetings and networking events.

Yisi Zhu is currently a student in Financial Mathematics Program at the University of Chicago. Before matriculating to the University of Chicago, Yisi majored in physics and applied mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley. While in college, he participated in diverse research projects and was awarded the prestigious Isidore Pomerantz Scholarship by the Physics Department. Aiming to leverage academic theories in a broader setting, Yisi developed an interest in financial markets, specifically the trading business. As a student ambassador for the trading club, he will work with area employers to help fellow students launch a trading career in investment banks or proprietary trading firms.

Wuhan earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, majoring in Mathematics/Economics and minoring in Accounting. As a student ambassador, Wuhan will utilize his prior experience as an officer in undergraduate associations and clubs to network with area employers. Wuhan is also interested in asset management, risk management and trading. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball and poker. Working with club members, he will be responsible for assisting with the first Annual University of Chicago Trading Conference.
