In developing this Strategic Plan, the Department directly engaged Congress, our employees, stakeholders, and the general public through agency outreach — including listening sessions, web chats, and posting the proposed strategic goals and objectives with explanatory, user-friendly slideshows on the DOL web site. The Training Plan describes the approach, activities and tasks required by the organization to ensure the necessary skills are attained to achieve the outcome of the project. It also outlines the timeline by which training will be delivered.

The training activities should be planned during the planning phase of the project, and the tasks should be incorporated into the project plan.

?State Training Plans

Section 21(1)(a) of the Vocational Education and Training Act 1996 requires the State Training Board to prepare for the Minister's approval a State Training Plan. The Plan contributes to the policy and purchasing direction for the training system in Western Australia for the short to medium term.

The State Training Plan is developed each year within the context of current State and national vocational education and training policies, commitments and agreements. In addition, a range of inputs feed the plan including:

analysis of economic, labour market and demographic data;

industry consultation and advice;

regional advice; and

other relevant research and reports.

In recent years the State Training Plan is informed by the State Priority Occupation List (SPOL) and the Western Australian Shares Model developed by the Department of Training and Workforce Development. The SPOL is a list of occupations that are in high demand or considered industry-critical in Western Australia. The Shares Model is an economic model that provides an indication of how future training resources should be distributed in order to meet the future demand for skilled workers in Western Australia.

Current State Training Plan

The State Training Plan 2015-2018 was endorsed by Minister Kim Hames MLA on 30 September 2014. The State Training Plan 2015-2018 identifies and recommends the following training investment priorities for the State:

Occupational Priorities : continued focus on apprenticeships and traineeships, priority industry qualifications and essential foundation skills.

Youth : continued focus on foundation skills training and stronger emphasis on pathways to higher level qualifications and/or employment.

Under-represented groups : continued focus on foundation skills training and emphasis on training for Aboriginal people, people with a disability and those living in regional and remote areas; and

Ageing Population : continued emphasis on training for health and community services occupations.

Contractors are required to prepare a project specific Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan prior to any construction activity.

The Strategic Plan is our working document intended for use by each of us in aligning our daily work choices, decisions and priorities to best contribute to Training Center Petaluma's Mission. It was built using core-worker input, and will remain a viable and helpful document only through continued application in our work centers.

Here are some suggestions for specific helpful ways of using the Strategic Plan:

Engage in discussions with your co-workers about the plan, especially our Mission, Vision, and Values.

Be open to learn and teach others about all aspects of our business, and then ask yourself, What in the world does this have to do with our mission?

If it helps, use the Strategic Plan as permission to bring out those radical ideas you've been storing in the back of your head, even if they're not in your bailiwick. The plan is saying, feel free to step out of the box. While the conversations will be valuable for all concerned, this is no guarantee that others will accept your ideas, but that's okay.

Each division will be focusing on a few key initiatives. Get involved in that divisional effort and use the Strategic Plan to steer your team's discussions.

Use the Strategic Plan to build networks and partnerships with others toward common goals and purposes. With better communication will come greater mutual trust.

The plan is structured around five substantive areas: reduce crime, enhance recruitment and career development, community engagement, provide exemplary training solutions, and strengthen domestic preparedness. All of these areas cover major themes within the law enforcement profession.

Reduce Crime - Enhance patrol capabilities; explore on-line reporting; standardize patrol response (telephone reports); increase investigative capabilities through partnerships; increase investigative technology and equipment.

Enhance Recruitment Career Development - Expand efforts through community forums and meetings. The police department remains committed to recruiting an applicant pool that is reflective of the community. The applicant pool rarely has the number of females and minorities that would give us the desired diversity in the workforce. We will continue to focus our recruitment efforts on attracting a more diverse applicant pool while maintaining our high employment standard to ensure a professional workforce. We also must be proactive in identifying and coordinating succession planning for future leaders. Mentoring education, leadership training, and rotational duty assignments will be utilized to develop our future leaders.

Community Engagement - Our crime reduction efforts are dependent upon strong engagement with all segments of the community. We continue our challenge of getting citizens and business owners with busy schedules involved with the police department and their neighborhoods. Our goal is for citizen and neighborhood involvement to be proactive rather than reactive.

Provide Exemplary Training Solutions - Assess current operational style, utilize new technology, equipment and multimedia sources to deliver current and timely training. The on-going rapid change in technology creates multiple problems for the department. The technology and training to investigate these types of crimes is expensive, and the training is complex.

Strengthen Domestic Preparedness - Strengthen knowledge of emergency operations, compatibility and partnerships; securing/hardening of current operations headquarters; continue advancement toward a new police department facility. Ensure all our supervision is trained in the ICS protocols.

Since its inception, CIHR has taken significant steps to foster research excellence and advance health innovation in Canada. Our previous strategic plan, Health Research Roadmap: Creating innovation health research for better health and health care (2009), provided a strong vision for the Canadian health research enterprise. It ushered in a wave of transformations at CIHR with the introduction of a number of ground-breaking initiatives, including the reforms of the investigator-initiated Open Suite of Programs and peer review processes, Canada’s Strategy on Patient-Oriented Research and priority-driven Signature Initiatives. With continued support for these initiatives, CIHR is now in a strong position to build on its achievements and continue the transformation it began five years ago.

It is with great pleasure that I introduce CIHR’s new strategic plan for 2014/15 – 2018/19, Health Research Roadmap II: Capturing Innovation to Produce Better Health and Health Care (Roadmap II). Roadmap II builds on Canada’s reputation as a world leader in health research excellence, and embraces new ways of working with partners and stakeholders through a dynamic framework for research investment. It sets three strategic directions that will enable CIHR to provide researchers with the freedom and autonomy to pursue new ideas, mobilize research communities to focus on health priorities that are relevant to Canadians, and maximize the value and impact of its investments.

Credit Suisse Group AG investors questioned Tidjane Thiam’s plan to prioritize wealth management over the investment bank and rely on growth in Asia while tapping shareholders to bolster capital.

In the multi-year plan the bank will reorganize along geographical lines and split and shrink the securities unit, Credit Suisse said on Wednesday. The company plans to hold an initial public offering of the Swiss business to raise funds and make acquisitions, while cutting 5,600 jobs across the U. S. the U. K. and Switzerland.

The shares fell after the strategy announcement by Thiam, 53, the chief executive officer recruited in July to rebuild investor confidence in a bank struggling with tougher capital demands and record-low interest rates. The plan didn’t spell out details of how the company will more than double profit in Asia and Thiam said he would not provide a target for profitability because only a “fool” would commit to something he can’t control.

“There’s still a lot of uncertainty over this strategy,” said Lutz Roehmeyer, who helps manage 11 billion euros ($12.8 billion) at LBB Invest in Berlin. “You can’t yet say what the growth is going to look like and where it’s really going to come from. I just don’t know if wealth management really is the panacea.”

The shares dropped as much as 5.2 percent and were 3.9 percent lower as of 4:36 p. m. in Zurich. The STOXX Europe 600 Banks Index fell 0.8 percent.

Profit Falls

Credit Suisse will raise 6.05 billion Swiss francs ($6.3 billion) by selling 1.35 billion francs of stock to select shareholders and 4.7 billion francs of shares to existing investors as regulators in Switzerland prepare to require larger capital buffers. The company “assumes” that Switzerland will raise its leverage ratio to 5 percent, Thiam told reporters. He didn’t say more about who the select investors were.

“We are rebooting the company, we are solving our capital issues,” Thiam, 53, said in an interview with Bloomberg Television. “One of our objectives coming in was to take capital off the table to raise enough capital so that this would not be again a topic of conversation at quarterly results.”

The bank on Wednesday said third-quarter profit fell, missing analyst estimates, in part because of a bigger-than-expected drop in handling clients’ money, the business the company wants to expand. The bank will take a “substantial impairment” charge in the fourth quarter as it writes down goodwill in the investment bank, Chief Financial Officer David Mathers told investors in London.

Credit Suisse aims to sell 20 percent to 30 percent of its Swiss bank in an IPO by 2018, estimating the sale would raise between 2 billion francs and 4 billion francs. The IPO would allow Credit Suisse to buy private banks that will probably come up for sale, Thiam said. The goal is to create a bank focused on wealthy private, corporate and institutional clients, it said.

Credit Suisse aims to return to investors 40 percent of the excess capital expected to reach 23 billion francs to 25 billion francs by 2020. The payout is low and will be seen as disappointing, according Nomura Holdings Inc. analysts led by Jon Peace.

As part of a broad reorganization that includes a management shakeup, Credit Suisse will cut 3.5 billion francs in costs by the end of 2018.

The bank is creating three regionally-focused divisions and dividing the securities unit into a markets business and an investment banking operation to be run by Tim O’Hara and Jim Amine. Credit Suisse named Helman Sitohang and Iqbal Khan among six new board members as Gael de Boissard, Hans-Ulrich Meister and Robert Shafir step down.

Credit Suisse said it will begin by shrinking its capital-intensive macro business down to about a quarter of its size by the end of the year while cutting in half the amount of risk-weighted assets at the prime services unit, which caters to hedge funds.

“The market’s reaction is. ‘Yes, we like what you’re doing, but show us the money,”’ Andrew Parry, head of equities at Hermes Investment Management, told Bloomberg Television. “They’ll have to deliver on that.”

Net income in the third quarter decreased 24 percent to 779 million francs from a year earlier. The average estimate of seven analysts in a Bloomberg survey was for 858 million francs. Net revenue from fixed-income sales and trading plunged 53 percent to 674 million francs as “extreme dislocations” in credit markets resulted in lower client activity, the bank said.

Private banking and wealth management posted 647 million francs in pretax profit, down 31 percent, Credit Suisse said. That missed an average estimate of 896 million francs. Clients trades less and trading and commissions fell, the bank said.

Credit Suisse struck a deal allowing Wells Fargo Co. to hire the Swiss lender’s private-bank employees in the U. S. as the firm retreats from managing wealth in the country.

“Thiam was brought into the bank as CEO to downsize the investment bank, grow in Asia and better control costs,” Dirk Becker, an analyst at Kepler Cheuvreux said in a note. “He is delivering on all these expectations with the strategy announcement, but there is no tangible breakthrough on top of it.”

Doji candle has no or an extremely short body and long shadow(s). It is formed when buyers were unable to overcome sellers' pressure and push the price any further from an open point, and at the same time, sellers met strong buyers' pressure and also didn't succeed in their efforts to push the price down from the open point. The result is a draw: open price = close price.

Doji candlestick signals of possible market turn / price reversal, especially when spotted after a long preceding candlestick (bearish or bullish) in a strong trending market.

However it can not be used along. The confirmation (next following candlestick) is needed to reassure that market has changed its direction.

Tip: If doji appears at previous support / resistance levels (e. g. trend line, price channels, fibonacci retracement, pivot points etc.) its importance gains additional strength.

Types of charts

There are three most commonly used types of charts: line chart, bar chart and candlestick chart. It is optional for a trader what chart type to use.

Line chart contains price's closing value at given time. Values are then connected in one line, which creates a picture / graph of price fluctuations.

Below is an example of a line chart:

Line charts are useful when making reviews over a long period of time.

Bar charts are also called OHLC (HLC) charts. An abbreviation "OHLC" stays for OPEN, HIGH, LOW and CLOSE.

Each segment of these charts — a bar — provides a trader with additional information such as high and low ask prices and also open and close prices for certain period of time. In other words, the whole trading range can be observed.

Candlestick charts are an improved version of bar charts. It is Forex most popular and widely used chart type. And we are going to discover why.

Each bar of the chart is a candlestick, known also as Japanese candlestick (it was invented by Japanese).

Because of its appearance candlestick delivers more information than any other line or bar method.

First let's take a look at candlestick itself:

Candlestick carries HIGH, LOW, OPEN, CLOSE for the price and possess a BODY. A color and size of the body supply traders with additional price details.

We are going to learn about different candlesticks later.

Now let's take a general look at Forex candlestick chart:

This chart seems more alive and easier to apprehend visually. That's because a trader can quickly tell where the price went up, where it came down, when the price changed its direction and what happened there.

A candlestick chart reveals things that are not visible on other charts. It gives comprehensive information about price on the market and thus helps better understand and predict future price moves.
